Door to Door

Many people have asked me about the white shoe prints on our yard signs.  They signify the many foot prints we made in the snow in our first campaign for State Representative in 2009.  In that race, we literally knocked on 30,000 votersí doors and through the grace of God I was able to defeat an extremely well-funded incumbent from my own Party.

Obviously we knocked on those doors to win votes but the core principal of going door to door goes much deeper and is much more important:

How can you truly represent the people if you arenít listening to them, and how can you listen to them if you donít go out and talk to them.  This is my bottom line as a public servant.

Every vote Iíve ever cast and every move Iíve made in office started with the question: What do the people want me to do?  To make sure I have a good sense of the answer I go door to door every summer whether I have an election or not.
